Al-Hudood were founded in 1976 in Baghdad. They spent the first 32 years of their existence in the lower divisions before finally being promoted to the Iraqi Premier League for the 2008/09 season. In the 2008/09 season, they finished in the relegation zone but got lucky as the Iraqi FA eventually decided not to relegate any teams that season. They weren’t so lucky in the following campaign though as they were relegated this time, although they came straight back up the following season. The 2011/12 season saw them finish bottom of the league with just one single win from 38 games, and they spent the next two seasons in the second tier of Iraqi football before returning to the top-flight in the 2014/15 campaign. Since then they have improved and will be hoping to break into the top half next season.
