Yaser Kasim named in Iraq squad for Saudi Arabia friendly

Basim Qasim has announced the squad that will face Saudi Arabia in Iraq’s upcoming friendly.

The match will be held on the 28th of February in the Basra Sports City Stadium and Yaser Kasim has received a surprise call-up. The midfielder, who has hardly featured for Northampton Town this season and last played for Iraq in 2016, had been reportedly on the verge of rejoining the national team set-up and Qasim has confirmed those rumours today.

The squad list contains 22 players with Mustafa Mohammed, Emad Mohsin and Arkan Ammar hoping to make their debut for the Lions.
